flow festival helsinki 2013 - nick cave

It’s been three years since NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS released their critically acclaimed album Push The Sky Away. Now, it looks like the Australian mastermind of melancholia and his gang are about to return with new music this year. According to Pitchfork and a listing on the Laemmle Theatres website which hints on a currently untitled film that is set to premiere on September 8 and sees the band performing songs from their new album. The record itself is supposed to be out one day later, on September the 9th and the film should be the firs opportunity to hear the new music as the band is not planning to release any singles prior to the release.

Laemmle details the film in a statement:

The record has an intimacy and starkness that the film’s photographic style will reflect. It will be shot in black and white, color and 3-D. The idea is to create an experience that is immersive but also elegant, that feels both immediate and archival.
