Hamburg’s very own MS DOCKVILLE FESTIVAL is always a secure spot in your summer festival schedule when you’re looking for a diversified selection of established and buzzing artists. And since we already had a great time in 2014, 2013 and 2012 and it makes sense that NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is heading back to the event for the fourth time in a row from August 21 to 23. And since the event is always a great place to discover the next big thing we put together a list of acts that may have been blotted out by the headliners.

So, if you happen to attend the 2015 MS DOCKVILLE and are lot listening to the hypnotic voice of JOSÉ GONZÁLEZ, the elaborate guitars at the INTERPOL set, and the hypnotic voice of LITTLE DRAGON singer Yukimi Nagano, please feel invited check out these not that big yet acts if you ever feel like avoiding the big crowds.

01. Drauf und Dran

Berlin’s DRAUF UND DRAN is one of the first sets on Friday, and the DJ plays a show ideal for when the sun is still up and the weekend is just getting started.

02. Ásgeir

Though he has racked up the online plays in the last year and can no longer really be considered a newcomer, ÁSGEIR has a running history with NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION (we already premiered a clip from him way back in 2013) so he is included in this list nonetheless. His intimate voice should not be missed before you head to the SYLVAN ESSO set on Friday.

03. Nod One’s Head

This live house duo from Berlin released their debut album on the first night of Dockville, so their show is bound to have some great energy.

04. Sekuoia

Well, if you’re a dedicated follower of NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION this gentleman is no stranger to you. The electronic producer from Denmark already produced an exclusive guestmix for us last winter. SEKUOIA layers synths, samples and beats that can only be called compelling. If you’re not a fan yet you’re definitely going to be after the performance.

05. Parcels

They only came out with their first album earlier this year, but with their 80s funk sound similar to TORO Y MOI, PARCELS will likely make quite the debut at Dockville.

06. Tropics

British producer Chris Ward aka TROPICS  is no stranger to us as well. He combines piano, guitar, electronic elements and a melancholic voice to make for an ambient, organic sound ideal for the festival. His latest longplayer Rapture his highly recommendable and he now has a live band for his shows, so it should be even better than usual.

07. Pool

This three-piece band of friends includes Daniel Husten, David Stoltzenberg and Nils Hansen. Their upbeat tracks and carefree vibe will be complimented by playing the show in their home city of Hamburg.
