‘Endless love is not enough’ sings SIVERT HØYEM in the title track of his new album, which now streams on NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. Over the last years the Norwegian singer had a hard time. First his former MADRUGADA bandmate Robert Burås died, which led to the end of MADRUGADA. After this HØYEM focused on his solo career, but right after his new album Endless Love was finished his musical careed was disturbed by sudden death again. His manager Per Eirik Johansen died at the age of only 54. Endless Love is dedicated to Johansen. ‘First as my record company CEO, and later as personal manager. Going on without him is going to feel odd. We had so much in common — we both came from the North of Norway, we shared musical tastes, he felt like family.’ If there is one thing that sadly is true: endless love is not enough, endless love won’t keep us from the pains of losses.

SIVERT HØYEM is now 38 years old. At the same age BOB DYLAND released Slow Train Coming. It feels like the Norwegian singer follows DYLAN’s footsteps and maybe even goes way further. Endless Love‘ lyrics explore mature themes while the music more than ever focuses on HØYEM‘s unique qualities as a singer, as performative artist. ‘I never applied for a job as a solo artist. Music was initially a social thing for me, all I ever wanted was to be in a band. In the autumn of 2012 I toured alone with a guitar for the first time, and Endless Love grew out of that experience. By early 2013 I had dissolved my backing band to start from scratch. I started working alone with Swedish producer Ulf Ivarsson (Thåström). Ulf and I hit it off quickly, and he soon got especially interested in the blues and gospel-like qualities in my voice and my material. My singing is at the center of this album. We didn’t spend remotely as much energy on anything else. This is why we never feared to explore different musical landscapes — from threatening, distorted and semi-electronic moods to dynamic, acoustic ballads.’

Are you ready for endless love? Enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful new album by the man with one of the most distinctive and charismatic voices in the music business. A voice that instantly crawls beneath your skin. Be prepared: already now Endless Love is one of the albums of the year 2014.

Endless Love was recorded in Stockholm and Oslo, produced by Ulf Ivarsson, and mixed by Michael Ilbert (THE CARDIGANS / THE HIVES) in the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin. Morten Andersen, one of the most distinctive rock and art photographers in Norway, shot the cover art. Both have been collaborating since the early 2000s.

In HØYEM‘s home country Norway Endless Love entered the national charts on number one and remained in the top five for weeks. On May 30th the album will be released outside Norway.
