Soko is sitting in front of the camera in her Los Angeles home. The French artist is wearing plaid sweatpants and a college-style shirt. Even though it is 9am only on the American west coast, she seems to be more awake than me in early-evening Berlin. Soko, Stéphanie Sokolinski, laughs into the camera and patiently answers my questions about her third record "Feel Feelings".
Nearing their first decade as a band and about to release their third full-length, band leader Hannah Reid decided to stir things up, in light of the things she felt needed an output. NBHAP author Andreas met up with the front singer and got a pretty good impression of the message she had in mind.
