Bon Iver - Spoon Cover

Let’s face it: It’s been far too long since Justin Vernon and his alter ago BON IVER released their last album. The critically acclaimed Bon Iver, Bon Iver was released almost four years ago, followed by an indefinite hiatus of its shy mastermind who clearly wasn’t prepared for all the Grammy-related buzz his second album created. In the past year’s Vernon was far from being lazy. He released a second album by his other band VOLCANO CHOIR, produced albums for THE STAVES or THE ROSEBUDS and even released one new song for Zach Braff’s latest movie. But face it: what we all really want is Justin Vernon in his solo beauty, delivering heart-wrenching beauty in the form of tender folk gems.

Ahead of the forthcoming Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival in Wisconsin in July which Vernon organized and curated together with Aaron Dessner from THE NATIONAL, he now teased the performance of SPOON with a cover of their Inside Out, taken from last year’s They Want My Soul record. And together with the accompanying video it spreads pure BON IVER magic. Vernon, his piano, a nightly setting and a tender light installation – seriously, what more do we need? Well, besides the already mentioned new album. These are two and a half minutes you should not miss, believe us.
