Acclaimed US folk experimentalists CALEXICO return with a new album, Edge Of The Sun, on April the 14th. Once again the group draws inspiration from various sources but especially from a trip to a place surprisingly unexplored Mexico City. The new record also features an impressive list of guests, including Sam Beam of IRON & WINE, Ben Bridwell (BAND OF HORSES), Nick Urata (DEVOTCHKA), Carla Morrison, Gaby Moreno, Amparo Sanchez, multi-instrumentalists from the Greek band Takim, and Neko Case.

Joey Burns of CALEXICO on the new inspiration for the record: ‘Going to another city to jumpstart the creative process helped us to know what this record is about and where we are as a band, like an open canvas with few ties to normal routines when recording and writing.’

The Latin influences are clearly sensible in Cumbia de Donde, the record’s first single. Listen to the sunny piece below.
