Shortly after the release of ‘Now I’m In It’ in late October, a song about going through depression and spiralling minds, NBHAP editor Anna Stich talked to HAIM about the tough times, the past times, the good times and the future times. The three Californian sisters have been working hard in the studio and since then blessed the world with another single called ‘Hallelujah’, a counterpart to ‘Now I’m In It’ appreciating the love and support we need while stuck in a dark place.
As this decade is approaching its end it is time for a little reflection on all the great music we experienced over the course of it. Of course, this is NOT an ultimate and universal Top 100 list. It simply can't be but these are the songs you should definitely give a spin before the decade is over. The first 25 tracks include Frank Ocean, Flying Lotus, David Bowie, Vampire Weekend, Lorde, The Weeknd, FKA Twigs and more.
Although this decade isn't entirely over yet we still like to already take a look back on its musical highlight. And especially the independent music scene seems to fully freed itself from any limitations and boundaries during these ten years, resulting in quite some memorable musical moments we'd like to share with you.
Indie-pop trio HAIM presents the music for its latest single The Wire. And it’s a quite funny music video which features Jorma Taccone which you might know from comedy band THE LONELY ISLAND or famous TV series Girls. And the lesson we definitely learn from the clip – don’t get your heart broken by the HAIM sisters. The track is taken from the highly anticipated and Paul Epworth-produced debut album Days Are Gone. It will be released on September 30 featuring previous hit singles Forever, Don’t Save Me or Falling. Check out the music video for The Wire right here.
