It’s been a long time coming but now it looks like RADIOHEAD are finally back in the studio to start the longtime rumoured recording sessions for a new studio album. Guitarist Jonny Greenwood himself confirmed the fact in a new interview with BBC Radio Oxford. ‘We’re currently playing and recording and it’s fun to see everyone again, it’s been a long time coming, we’ve been waiting all of us for a long time’ he said. Still the recordings are at a very early stages and Greenwood also confirms that working on a RADIOHEAD record is always a slow process.
He furthermore adds: ‘I always feel as when we start up like we still don’t know really how to do it, and we don’t know quite what to do. ‘Looking down avenues’ is a very kind way of putting the kind of fumbling that we do, mainly because every time we try and do it like the last time because that worked, it never seems to work. So we talk about different approaches and we’re currently trying a bunch out.’
We’ll see how fast the gentlemen will work in the future and if we can expect the follow-up to 2011’s The King of Limbs next year or not. In the meantime – enjoy a classic right here.
