Who is it?

Linn Frøkedal and Richard Myklebust are members of Norwegian outfit THE MEGAPHONIC THIFT, but on their own time they make up alt-rock duo MISTY COAST. They’re two singles into their life as a band at present, having dropped their debut Funny World last year and followed it up with Heavy Head On A Body in January. Now they’ve returned with another, Leap Year.

Why should you listen to it?

Leap Year is an absolutely pristine piece of space-rock, pairing fuzz with glowing melodies, posed between melancholy and and a soaring uplifting chorus. MISTY COAST‘s talent lies in their ability to bring all those elements together and fuse them to make Leap Year one of the best dream rock songs we’ve heard all year.

What’s next?

The duo’s self-titled debut album is due out on Brilliance on September 15th.

Everyday we’re adding NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION‘s Daily Tune to our ongoing Spotify playlist, packed with all the hidden treasures by those talented newcomers you need to know. Listen and follow right here.
