American indie rock heroes THE NATIONAL are about to start working on a new studio album this fall. As singer Matt Berninger recently told Gigwise the group will start the work on the follow-up to 2013’s Trouble Will Find Me in October. And it will sound a bit different as he promises.
While the band in the past often worked seperately on new ideas they will all work together in one room this time from very early on. Berninger on the recording process: ‘ We have no idea whether it’s going to work or not, but that’s as far as we’ve got with the new record: trying to work out a plan and a different approach.’ But don’t expect drastic changes as he furthermore adds: ‘It’s not going to be a hip-hop record, I’m pretty sure. I wish we could but I’m terrible at that, I’ve tried.’
NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION will keep you updated on any THE NATIONAL news as they come along.
