Covering synthpop legends DEPECHE MODE has happened multiple times in the past, resulting in interesting reinterpretations by artists like JOHNNY CASH or MARILYN MANSON. Now, London-based synthpop two-piece THE PENELOPES are the latest band to give the legendary boys from Basildon a fresh twist.
Axel and Vincent from the band recorded their own version of the 1987 classic Never Let Me Down Again. And while the original was pretty epic stadium synthpop material, the version by THE PENELOPES adds a lighter, almost tropical new wave note to the song which is quite refreshing.
