Brighton UK-based alt-folk artist Oliver Spalding shows that futuristic appeal and soulful songwriting can go hand in hand if it’s done with honesty and the fitting amount of talent. Reverse Hurt is a fitting example for that walk on the tightrope, delivering a gloomy and almost ghost-like performances that leaves enough space for the listener’s own range of emotions. The track is taken off Spalding‘s forthcoming debut EP Unfurl and he explains its character with the following words:
‘This song explains itself a little better than the others! It’s mainly about guilt and wishing a relationship would start at the worst point and eventually crescendo with the best! A full on daydream ending with the moment you first met bathed in subtle euphoria and underlying heartache.’
NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is happy to help Oliver Spalding on his first steps into a bright future as we’re debuting Reverse Hurt for you right here. The entire Unfurl EP is set for release via Monotreme Records on November 17th, so watch out for this one.
