But the genre is much more relevant than just a moody soundtrack to a post-breakup movie scene. We met the Blues Duo Larkin Poe, who shatter all clichés with fierce girl power and a contemporary twist to playing the Blues.
After over a decade in the German indie scene the beloved duo is heading for new territory by signing to acclaimed US label Italians Do It Better. It's rather a logical next step than a total surprise if you dare to look closer at the band's career so far. Time for us to catch up with singer Deniz Çiçek in Hamburg to talk about all these things.
