Naomi Pilgrim - 2014Almost there, everybody. As we’re slowly getting closer to the very first edition of the Ja Ja Ja event series in Berlin we’d like to take a bit more time to introduce you to the lovely three Scandinavian acts that are playing the Fluxbau on that evening (find more information about the event right here). Last week we introduced you to the sweet dreampop duo ALFRED HALL and we also had Danish shoegazers BLAUE BLUME selecting their favourite tunes. Today, it’s time for sweet neo-soul goddess NAOMI PILGRIM to give us a more detailed look into her musical microcosm. In the wake of the forthcoming event NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION asked the crafted Swedish singer for her seven favourite tunes of all time.

And of course, that’s always a quite difficult selection to make. But these sweet tunes give a good impression what sort of music helped to shape the delicate sound of this young lady. So, without further ado we let Mrs. PILGRIM do the talking right here.

1. Steven A. Clark – ‘Lonely Roller’

I picked this track because I immediately started dancing the first time I heard it. The beat is sick and I’m a big fan of his vocals.

2. Frank Ocean – ‘Pyramids’

I am in love with FRANK OCEAN and ‘Pyramids’ is probably no 1 on my most played list. It works on both bad and good days and that’s what makes this song so excellent to me.

3. Lauryn Hill – ‘Consumerism’

She has spoken.

4. Beatrice Eli – ‘Moment Of Clarity’

I wanna be like BEATRICE ELI! She is hard, soft and she has mean rhythm. ‘Moments Of Clarity’ is the coolest song of the year. Congratulations to the world.

5. Lykke Li – ‘No rest for the wicked’

What’s not to fall in love with with this song? It’s crisp, soulful and oh so sad.

6. Solange – ‘Lovers In The Parking Lot’

This woman is one of my big inspirations. Any song of hers would make it to my seven songs ‘Hall Of Fame.’

7. Miguel – ‘Do You’

Mmmmiguel.
