Yes, we know, we know … the summer season is approaching and you all had different plans for 2020 than the ones you might actually end of following. Travelling, extended parties with friends, festivals, limitless outdoor activities – all is cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and over the past weeks we all realized that this is now the new normal we have to live with for the next weeks and months. Coping with the new age of uncertainty is difficult, it takes a lot, maybe more than we all thought it would. But it’s not the end of the world, even if various conspiracy weirdos might tell you so. Instead, it’s better to see this as a brief moment to reevaluate our lives, set priorities right and focus on – well, ourselves instead of heading for all the countless distractions of this thing called modern life. Civilization is hitting the ‘pause’ button and we should all see that as a blessing instead of a burden.

Music is a great way of coping with this uncertainty, the anxiety and all the other emotions that come with it. And as always NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION remains your source of inspiration for a fitting musical soundtrack for these days, especially when it comes to slightly melancholic ones.

Our beloved Sunny Indie Vibes Playlist on Spotify has been a steady companion during the past summers and we don’t let Corona stop us from continuing this tradition. This more mellow selection is a fitting soundtrack for lazy days in the park, on the lake and your own living room while you lie in the shimmering sunlight and reflect on your life. Honestly, this is a good summer for reflection and maybe also for philosophying about stuff like the society you’d like to live in once this pandemic is all over. Well, and maybe it helps you to appreciate the music itself a bit better (but obviously, we can count on our readers here). Now, we rearranged the summerly playlist, adding new favourites next to old ones. Fresh additions include beloved acts like Washed Out, Pure X, Khruangbin, Real Estate, Andy Shauf and Poolside. But, obviously we’re keeping it as ‘indie’ as possible and also give you exciting underground tips like Nature TV, Joesef, Closing Eyes, Pieces Of Juno, Birgitta Alida and other treasures you might remember from our newcomer sections. The result? Over six hours of chilled and laidback sunny indie music vibes to get you through this unusual summer. We honestly hope you’ll enjoy this selection as much as we do. Stay healthy, show solidarity and keep your distance in the best possible way this summer. We’ll get through this!
