Melt! Festival 2013

MELT! FESTIVAL 2015 – It’s going to be colourful

The season of the summer festivals has already begun and if there is one place where all kinds of musical genres will collide it is definitely this year’s MELT! Festival. Electro meets disco, indie-rock meets bubblegum-pop. So if you are open for a massive mixture of underground beats and world music in one place, you should take some time off in mid July and take the next train to Ferropolis.

It is the 18th round for the iron city to open it’s gate for almost 20.000 music lovers from all around the world. The flashlights will turn night into day when international and national acts will heat up the stages. This year stands for hyper interesting newcomers and well-known class acts, with whom the  MELT! FESTIVAL breaks the boundaries between subculture and mainstream once again. Still, 2015 seems to be extremely courageous when it comes to its versatile selection of artists.

You just need to have a quick look on the male performers which will hit the road to Ferropolis: Beloved British prodigy JAMIE XX will take the crowd to another dimension by performing his acclaimed solo record in Germany for the first time, whilst the London based youngsters from YEARS AND YEARS slams them back on earth with their fresh and ‘hipsterlicious’ tunes. At the same time Germany serves a perfect contradiction to them with this year’s breakthrough group BILDERBUCH, who surely will tell us what sexual vibes and fancy outfits stay for in a generation of craziness and inappropriate glamour. For those of you who cannot stand an overdose of theatric heat, Leipzig-based duo MALKY will cool you out with their dreamy and chilled big- city-soul.

Let us not forget the female power which could not be any mightier this year. The conquest begins immediately on MELT!‘s pre-party on Thursday, July 16, with one of New York’s hottest exports SANTIGOLD, who is not willing to concentrate on one genre, but mixes her hits with R’n‘B, hip hop, pop or even reggae influences. Norway’s dark-synth fairy AURORA will also fascinate with her mysterious pop-folk pieces as one of the youngest acts on the festival. Another lady is less secretive than ruthless and honest when it comes to her lyrics and performances. Swedish hit-smasher TOVE LO has been announced as one of the last artists to be part of MELT! and the audience can be curious about which parts of her body she will show on stage. Last but not least, what would a festival be without an artist who splits the opinions of all visitors? There is this one woman we are all looking forward to, no matter if nervously or sceptical, and it is KYLIE MINOGUE. As one of the most successful performers on earth the MELT! FESTIVAL invited a true icon to the iron city. Our eyes went big when we read the announcement, but let us be excited for her set. Rumour has it there will be a collaboration with iconic Italian disco expert GIORGIO MORODER. Two legends sharing one stage? Sounds good to us.

Oh, and speaking about DJ’s: Feet will burn this year when Berlin-based brothers TIEFSCHWARZ, British producer BONOBO or Russian electro-goddess NINA KRAVIZ turn up the bass on the floor among many other great acts. No guys, this cannot get better. Except that NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION will be reporting live from the festival to give you a look behind the scenes, talk with some of the amazing artists and swim in the vibe of good music and crazy people.

And if you want to be part of the experience, today might be your lucky day as NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is giving away tickets for one of the hottest events of the summer. Yes, indeed. All you have to do is to write an e-mail to win@nbhap.com with the subject “Melt!” and your full name. The competition runs til June 9.
