It’s been over three years since British indie pop ensemble GUILLEMOTS released a proper studio album and we’re really wondering what they are up to these days? At least, lead singer Fyfe Dangerfield now returns as duet partner in the latest single by crafted newcomers EYES OF A BLUE DOG. And Mr. Dangerfield perfectly works together with his female counterpart Elisabeth Nygaard in Before The Night Ends, another tender highlight from the band.
Band member Rory Simmons on the story of this joint venture: ‘The duet with Fyfe came about as a result of Fyfe and I being commissioned by BBC3 Late Junction to do a live set together back in 2012. We had lots of fun improvising and creating stuff for that show, and then always talked about doing something together in the future. He really changed the ambience of the tune, bringing a huge amount of intensity with his performance.’
Since we already enjoyed the band’s tune Closer before it’s save to say that Hamartia, the freshly released second album by EYES OF A BLUE DOG should get your attention. And if this alone is not convincing enough, hopefully this tune is.
