Let’s be honest: there are not many things to look forward to these days because … well, we’re all frozen in time until the vaccines take a leading position in this whole pandemic chaos. But, well, there’s still springtime to look forward to and somehow Hi Crime‘s Rainy Days & Crooked Sheets feels like a fitting song for the approaching warmer season, despite it’s actually about escapism at home on not so pleasant day. But the warm guitars, the soft melody and the overall harmonic atmosphere of the song make it a perfect match for the changing weather situation.
Hi Crime is a Seattle-based indie-pop group that began as a recording project between songwriters Brielle Rutledge and Mitch Etter. Since 2015 they are putting out releases almost every year, including their 2018 debut album The Kids Still Got It. Now they are aiming for another EP in 2021 and Rainy Days & Crooked Sheets is the first teaser from it. Needless to say, these folks should no longer be flying under the radar and we honestly hope that today’s pick for our LISTEN AHEAD update is a fitting gateway drug for you into the Hi Crime cosmos.
Don’t miss the charming session video of the track that Hi Crime recorded for us.
