The latest edition of our beloved interview series about electronic music welcomes a true heavyweight of electronic music – the one and only Claude VonStroke. The internationally known house music veteran and founder of Dirtybird Records just returned from his first official party event since the world started opening up again and he’s also launching a brand new white label series along with Justin Jay. Needless to say we had a lot to talk about. And on top of it the man himself also took care of our Spotify playlist.
Back in the day album number ten by the synthpop heavyweights caused a lot of confusion. Two decades years later it's time to change our opinion about it. NBHAP head and die-hard DM fan Norman Fleischer takes a closer look at a record that still means a lot to him.
A time of fundamental crisis tends to create impressive art and right now there’s an incredible amount of exciting new bands that take elements of previous independent rock incarnations and adds a modern twist to it. Danish artist Lydmor is an unstoppable force of nature, one that is destined to push her own artistic and personal boundaries with every new release. Her pop is adventurous, relentless and forward-thinking and in a time that’s dominated by a lot of question marks it’s not the worst thing to imagine a better future. Together with her music we might be ready to shape it and this exchange will hopefully ignite it. And of course, she also picked tunes for our beloved playlist.
The ongoing climate crisis can leave you numb and disillusioned from time to time. Instead of waiting for a miracle to happen or getting way too cynical it might be best to simply start doing little changes in your everyday life. Taking action is one aspect, redefining our relationship with nature in general is a whole different one. Acclaimed musician Martin Kohlstedt is fighting for exactly that and NBHAP head Norman spoke with him about his ambitious yet very pragmatic plan and how we all can learn something from it.
At the beginning of the Covid-pandemic NBHAP head Norman created a tribute to dance and rave culture which quickly got life of its own. Now, with ten mixtapes out he reflects upon the origins of this personal little project and would like to share it with you as well.
Two decades after its initial release the underrated debut album by the British three-piece returns to the spotlight with a new reissue and a compilation of previously hard to get bonus tracks. NBHAP head Norman always had a strong connection to the music of South and managed to exchange a few thoughts on the group and their album with band member Jamie McDonald.
