This year has been a challenge for all of us and we were lucky enough to have such tremendous records on our side to comfort us in difficult times. From gentle melancholia, to raging fury - the albums of 2020 had a lot of stories to tell and these are the ones our staff enjoyed the most. The Egyptian-born and Montreal-based producer and singer Nadal El Shazly is back with her second solo record. "Laini Tani" combines electronic production style with influences from Arabic traditional singing and rhythms. Svenja Isabel Hudson spoke to Nadah El Shazly about the story behind it.

Canadian indie newcomers BRAIDS share an epic and atmospheric seven-minute-long music video for their new single In Kind. The song is taken from the trio’s upcoming new album Flourish // Perish which will be released on August 20. Definitely a record to look forward to – especially with such strong images.
