So far titled With a Little Help from my Fwends, ‘dropped-too-much-acid’ music rock gods and all-purpose creatives THE FLAMING LIPS have brought out an all star cast to do their very own tribute to seminal pop record Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The album will be released October 28, with all proceeds from the record will benefit Oklahoma City’s Bella Foundation, a pet rescue organization.
Collaborators announced so far include MOBY, Maynard James Keenan of TOOL, J MASCIS, MGMT, ELECTRIC WURMS and TEGAN & SARA. MILEY CYRUS will feature too, having recently collaborated with THE FLAMING LIPS on a cover of Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds. Keeping in the tradition of previous cover albums (THE FLAMING LIPS have also covered albums by PINK FLOYD and KING CRIMSON), fans can look forward to wacky and original interpretations of THE BEATLES 1967 pop masterpiece.
