This year has been a challenge for all of us and we were lucky enough to have such tremendous records on our side to comfort us in difficult times. From gentle melancholia, to raging fury - the albums of 2020 had a lot of stories to tell and these are the ones our staff enjoyed the most. If you haven't listened to all of them you now got a whole lockdown winter ahead of you to do that.
Although this decade isn't entirely over yet we still like to already take a look back on its musical highlight. And especially the independent music scene seems to fully freed itself from any limitations and boundaries during these ten years, resulting in quite some memorable musical moments we'd like to share with you.
Shortly after the release of ‘Now I’m In It’ in late October, a song about going through depression and spiralling minds, NBHAP editor Anna Stich talked to HAIM about the tough times, the past times, the good times and the future times. The three Californian sisters have been working hard in the studio and since then blessed the world with another single called ‘Hallelujah’, a counterpart to ‘Now I’m In It’ appreciating the love and support we need while stuck in a dark place.
Quite an honour for all-hyped pop trio HAIM. The band’s catchy hit single Forever now gets a brand new remix, done by none other than legendary GIORGIO MORODER. The influential 70s disco producers is currently celebrating some form of comeback, thanks to his collaboration with French superstars DAFT PUNK. And he clearly managed to give the song a new and shiny four-to-the-floor outfit. Pumping disco material at its best. The original is taken from HAIM‘s successful debut album Days Are Gone.
