Context?
From a one-man-bedroom-project to a full band. Ryan Lott and his alter ego SON LUX have really come far in the past years and their forthcoming longplayer Bones marks the peak of that evolution… so far. Longtime band members Ian Chang and Rafiq Bhatia are now officially joining the line-up and it absolutely makes sense to call the band’s new single Change Is Everything because… well, it seems to be the credo of SON LUX anyway.
Why Should I Watch This?
Once again SON LUX teamed up with creative collective The Made Shop again and they truly understood how to make the most of a minimum. An animated video based on a few drawing pins and 200 feet of thread? The result will totally flash you. Lott himself is more than satisfied with the result as he points out: ‘Made Shop continue to outdo themselves as the visual force behind our music. They bring to the eyes a type of unexpected magic, a strange but familiar energy. These are the things we hope our music brings to your ears.’ And it is, indeed, a hypnotic little masterpiece.
