Cleverly timed nostalgia, a true second coming or just pure coincidence? NBHAP head and original ‘survivor’ of the indie scene, Norman Fleischer, gives an overview of what to expect in the next months.
One of the most promising songwriters off the Canadian soil, Andy Shauf returns these days with “Norm”, a meticulously crafted interlay of stories revolving around the central, eponymous figure. NBHAP editor Andreas sat down with the artist to talk about the record, discussing the craft of storytelling as such, and the lack of imagination that characterises present-day folk music.
All hyped wave trio THE XX reports back with a new video for Fiction. Just a couple of days ago the band released a grooving remix of the track, done by electronic producer MAYA JANE COLES. The original is – of course – taken from last year’s successful sophomore album Coexist. The music video was directed by Young Replicant and it prominently features THE XX frontman Oliver Sim. He’s wandering through a beautiful black and white landscape at night. Perfect match for the song, we think. Watch it right here.
