After we first introduced you to Finnish newcomer SUAD and her nocturnal sound via her tempting video The Call back in December we’re happy to have the talented artist back again here on NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION with another mesmerizing music video. The gentle Hands follows the soothing notion of its predecessor, delivering a tender piece of trip-hop-infected pop that is carried by the singer’s haunting and distinctive voice. The video for Hands is a continuum of the same theme of the former videos as SUAD explained to us:
‘We all share the same interest in Finnish nature and archipelago, and there are same elements in all of the videos. There are glimpses from Utö in my first video ‘Blue Sign’. Utö is the most southernmost inhabited island in Finland with a long history. It has been a base for pilots, lighthouse keepers, custom officials and soldiers since 17th century. Utö is amazing, one of my favourite places in Finland and it has one of the most beautiful lighthouses I have ever seen. There is also a great variety of birds stopping by while they are moving, so it’s always exciting to see what beautiful species you’re going to meet there. Also, all the cargo and pilot boats moving past are a joy to watch..coming to Utö is like stepping into another world where time moves slowly.’
