Bilderbuch

Oh Austria; home of the Wiener Schnitzel, Mozart, beautiful cities and even more beautiful landscapes. It’s no doubt that Vienna is one of Europe’s most vital cities when it comes to culture and music. Just ask British shootingstar SOHN who found his musical home in the Austrian capital. It’s about time that local artists get into the spotlight as well. BILDERBUCH are the band that could make the impossible happen – gaining international attention while singing in German with an undeniable Viennese accent. But wait, it’s not a premiere – thirty years ago, their fellow countrymen FALCO cracked the international hitlists and made Rock Me Amadeus the first and still only pop song in German that topped the US Billboard charts.

Deadly serious about their funny side

Three decades later the Austrian four-piece is ready to follow his footsteps. BILDERBUCH already made their home country as well as its German neighbours hyperventilate. Of course, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION can’t resist either. Plansch made us want to jump in a pool and the almighty Maschin made even us proper cat fetishists. There’s something about the sound of these four gentlemen that’s different from a lot of other German-singing bands. In an undeniable playfulness the band combines rap, pop, R&B and electronic music, isn’t afraid of auto-tune and cheesiness while remaining deadly serious about their funny side.

The band wants to establish a certain kinky sexiness to the music culture of their home country. BILDERBUCH combine everything, paired with charisma and the boost of self confidence you need to survive in the international music business. Frontman Maurice Ernst sings about getting it on with his special lady, the sexiness of wearing moon boots and the horror of spitting yoghurt on your blouse. That’s what great pop music is made of. new album Schick Schock arrives on February the 20th and NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is pretty sure that they will also be irresistible to the audience of the 2015 Eurosonic Noorderslag.

Eurosonic Noorderslag is the key exchange and networking platform for European music, with a proven track record for helping new acts to establish themselves in other countries. The event will take place from January 14 to 17.
