Only 21 years old and already going strong. When meeting him in person Danish producer SEKUOIA seems like quite a normal and even a bit shy young fella. Judging from that impression you wouldn’t guess that he’s one of Denmark’s up and coming producers at the moment. He already supported artists like MØ and ACTIVE CHILD and next week NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is getting the guy to Berlin in the course of the December edition of the Ja Ja Ja Club Night at the Fluxbau.
Ahead of this joyful occasion we asked the man who goes by the simple name Patrick in real life, to compile some of his favourite tunes for a bouncing NBHAP Guestmix. The result is just another proof for SEKUOIA‘s diversified influences. Eclectic break-beats meet head-nodding hip hop beats and weird experimental sounds. Just in the style of musicians like JAMIE XX and XXYYXX the Dane represents a new generation of crafted electronic musicians who are not longer interested in sticking to just one genre.
It’s music for open minds and intelligent ears. But in the end – it’s also a great soundtrack to get your week started. The high class of booty shaking, ladies and gentlemen.
