Russian-born, Norway-raised artist Zueva (Ekaterina Zueva) has been around and dabbling in different genres for a few years now, with some early indie still floating around online before she settled into soulful, candle-lit pop music. Her latest effort Over The Edge might just mark another step into something new. Ramping up the tempo and tension, and adding a little muscle to its rumbling synths, Over The Edge is frantic and forceful, a sleek, modern piece of quicksilver pop music that showcases her talent for shimmering, fleet-footed melody . Zueva says: “Over the Edge is a restless tune with summer vibes. I wrote about the feeling of being kinda on the brink of a breakdown, while the producer Snorre Sønderland delivered a vibrant instrumental with 80s synths and upbeat drums. The song is basically an intense merge of our musical approaches, which resulted in punk-infused indie pop. The process was really fun, I feel like I found a new way to express myself as an artist”.
