Pip Millett Is Walking Away From Bad Relationships on “Ride With Me”

Less is more seems to be the essence of Pip Millett’s musical output. The UK-based singer releases Ride With Me following her EP Motion Sick from last year. Placing each note with finesse, the singer creates an elegant take on contemporary RnB fused with electronic jazz elements. Her vocals are unforced and honest and carry the complexity of emotion in their restrained expression. The relaxed mood is enhanced by the dynamic shifts from a trap-inspired beat on the chorus to an almost completely a Capella bridge. “You do not get to ride with me”, is the takeaway from the single. Pip Millett says it is about leaving behind bad friendships and leaving something bad behind has never sounded so good.
