Los Angeles singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson is approaching his freshly announced sophomore record Quitters (marked for April 1) and the light-footed Rubberneckers is his next tease, giving a perspective into the sonic terrains the promising act might be heading into. Produced by the almighty Better Oblivion Community Center duo Phoebe Bridgers (who features backing vocals in the tune) and Conor Oberst, the new piece showcases a more beat-ish vibe in addition to the much-loved acoustic charm of Hutson‘s craft. The accompanying video shows the artist playfully engaging with the camera before hastily fleeing from it, which he has commented in the following way: “The last time I danced was at the 8th grade social and it was mainly just swaying to ‘I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’ but I wanted to showcase what a natural, gifted dancer I am.” Quitters also marks a turning away from the digital recording process of his 2020 debut, as Hutson states: “When we made ‘Beginners’ the aim was to make simple digital recordings of how I would play the songs in the room. With this record, Phoebe and Conor had an idea that it would be fun to make it to tape.” Head over to the tune right here and stay put for more on this gentleman.
