Girl In Red is Norwegian musician Marie Ulven, and that’s about all we know about her. That, and the fact that she makes excellent sleepy-eyed, breezy bedroom pop. She writes and releases fast, and Summer Depression is her latest outing. And it’s basically what we said before: sweet melodies phased though a lo-fi indie-pop filter and lyrics about misery making you never want to get out of bed or do anything really. There are a lot of people making this kind of music right now, but Summer Depression is good enough to stand out from the crowd.
