Heeds is the professional moniker of Stockholm-based musician Anna Ulfung Arnbom, and she’s now making her single debut with Vines. A fragile piece of layered, choral pop music, it makes the most of minimal resources (Arnbom is nearly a capella in places here) to craft a song about pain and loss that cuts right into the heart. Arnbom says: ‘I wanted to be vulnerable and express fear. I live with a lot of it and I am doing my best to embrace it everyday. Vines comes from one of the most fearful time of my life, and I worked to make something of it instead of letting it devour me’. Vines is out now, and an EP is due later this spring.
