Released via legendary Berlin label City Slang, Dallas-based songwriter and producer Ian Chang returns with a new single Audacious ahead of his debut album this spring. Known for his work as the drummer of Son Lux, Chang has been building an impressive list of collaborators to namedrop including Moses Sumney, Body Language and Matthew Dear. Proving to be more than just a one-trick pony, his solo work showcases a unique approach to production, build with intricate percussion at the forefront. Appropriately named, Chang takes a bold approach to his productions blending elements from across the electronic spectrum. It’s a lush blend of organic and electronic sounds, with a simple but effective drum groove providing the foundation for a wavey, lush chord progression. On vocal duties, lead singer of Blonde Redhead, Kazu Makino – provides a soft, melancholic topline that compliments the leftfield vibe of the track perfectly. His debut LP 属 Belonging arrives on April 24.
