It’s barely a secret anymore that we at NBHAP have become huge fans of Liverpool dream-pop duo King Hannah in the course of the past year, and who can blame us, right? Teasing their forthcoming debut album (details are yet to be announced), their brand new A Well-Made Woman rightfully justifies the little hype we’ve tried to create. Buzzing with a charged and moody fog that spreads wide over the surrealist Americana vibes, this one is a haunting storm that unleashes the pair’s incredible creative craft to translate the vividness of human desire into dark and brooding diamonds, yet ever so sparkling with wit and compassion. While Hannah Merrick’s smoky vocal waves forge a sense of alarm, the sinister and rattling guitars call for a no less dramatic backdrop – like Americana-fused dream pop for a Tarantino movie. Give this fine piece a good spin and stay tuned for more from these folks soon.
