KRÍA is an Icelandic electronic musician, and she’s recently dropped a new EP entitled Varp. But we’re going back a couple of months for this round, and focusing on the EP’s first single Pathogen, actually released in January. Pathogen shares a little musical DNA with the strange, frosted ice-electronica that the likes of FLORA work with, but it’s also a little more conventionally rhythmic, with a steady beat running through the whole thing that keeps it driving forward. Over that, KRÍA mainly uses her voice as the song’s primary expressive tool, slicing and bending it into sharp sculptures. It all makes for a heavy, hypnotic piece of art electronica.
