Hailing from Glasgow and recently having signed to indie label Seven Four Seven Six (also home to Matilda Mann and Matt Maltese), promising singer-songwriter Lizzie Reid emerges with her sophomore single Seamless. Enclosed in the stirring feel of a tremolo-soaked guitar, the delicate vocals softly glide out of thin air, wrapping the emotional hurt of heartbreak (“It all went so wrong / The language of love / Gone lost on us / How could it be / Our tearing at the seams / Has been seamless“) into a sonic shape that is raw, intimate and charged with profound sincerity. The weight of her creation meanwhile has not been lost on the young artist herself: “I listened to the demo on the train from London to Glasgow. I had tears streaming down my face. That was when I realised, I had written something deeply personal to me.” Make sure you tune in to this fine piece right here.
