British lads The Cool Greenhouse delivered their self-titled slick spoken word post punk album earlier last summer with solid reviews. Originally from rural Norfolk the group sidestep focusing solely on a guitar driven sound and push their excellent lyrics to the forefront of their compositions. Their latest single, Alexa! is no different, and contains swirling hooks, deliciously discordant lyrics whilst still sounding streamlined and refined enough to appeal to a wider audience outside their niche. The single is a more predictable but also more catchy addition to the band’s discography set to the theme of a modern-day love story featuring everyone’s favorite virtual assistant, Alexa. Neither the album nor this song disappoints in fun and interesting modern post punk and we recommend keeping this band on your radar.
