Back in the old days a band called Shakanaka existed in Bergen, consisting of Toggi and Egge and they produced cheerful, catchy indie rock. Now a couple of years later, Toggi (aka Torgeir Høgheim) has grown a moustache and presumably listened to a lot of Pulp, because the spirit of the Sheffield band is strong in his new single Dancing Alone. It takes his old band’s catchiness and transplants it into the chorus of a big, sad, epic rock song, a song in the spirit of singing your heart out at the end of your tether. Dancing Alone is out now on Diamond Club Norway.
