Norway’s Tuvaband have news: now reconfigured as Tuva Hellum Marschhäuser’s solo project and based in Berlin, a new single, Horses, has just landed. And on it, Marschhäuser continues to showcase her flair for ghostly, candle-burning-slowly shiver-pop. Horses is a simply constructed song, built from a spindly little guitar riff and splashes of viola, but that musical restraint just puts the spotlight on Marschhäuser’s voice. And hers is a voice that deserves it, as she spins tales of unravelling relationships with show-stopping power. It’s out now, and Tuvaband go on tour in Europe this April.
