Remember Humfree Bug Art? We featured the Swedish four-piece a couple of years ago, then things seemed to go a bit quiet from their side. But now half the band at least are back. Fredrik Forell and Arvid Jonsson have returned as WYRES, and the second single they’ve put out is called Water. Water is sort of a mutant mash-up of indie-rock and electro-pop, written as the former and produced like the latter. So what does that give you? A zesty, catchy pop song that’s got enough character to distinguish itself from the sludge of thousands of New Music Friday-aspirant thrash, but also comes with the power-rush of a massive chorus. It’s part of their upcoming debut EP, which will be out in June.
