Like many other young British bands of their generation London-based four-piece Goat Girl is carried by a certain raw yet quite melancholic approach, giving their mesmerizing alternative funk a delicate dark and edgy untertone. Recorded with acclaimed producer Dan Carey the sound of their upcoming self-titled debut album (out on April 6 via Rough Trade) is one of ugly urban city life, despair and determination but also a certain amount of romance. The band’s latest single Throw Me A Bone is the perfect little indie music gem to capture that feeling as it showcases everything Goat Girl are about: haunting pop, born and raised in the concrete jungle of South London. Yes, please.
