With pedal steel, harmonica, and folky guitar arrangements, young singer and songwriter Arsun snuck his way into our hearts. The musician Arsun Sorrenti grew up in New York City and draws from inspirations like Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones. Dead Sixty-Six was certainly inspired by the former. The vintage-style laconic vocals and the analog recording quality make this one sound like a three-and-a-half minute time travel. Over gentle melodies and sweeping pedal steel strings, he sings of the obstacles thrown in the path of a relationship – romantic folk nostalgia at its best. And while working on an album, Arsun will accompany Cat Power on tour this fall.
