Poland-born and Berlin-based artist Adam Byczkowski and his alter ego Better Person have been a steady force of the still quite vital indie scene of the German capital for many years now. As a crucial part of the Mansions and Millions label family in Berlin’s Neukölln district Byczkowski keeps the underground vibe alive in the age of gentrification although I think it’s only a matter of time before his shimmering pop anthems get into the international limelight where they deserve to be. True Love, his first single in almost three years, is a prime example here. The track was produced with the help of none other than MGMT‘s Ben Goldwasser who usually don’t produce many artists outside of his own band. Together they created what can be best described as a contemporary take on a mighty 80s power ballad. Sensual, soft and full of soul the track isn’t even afraid to deliver a massive amount of saxophone activity but at this point you can’t really argue that you are surprised about that. Better Person‘s pop is ready to warm the hearts of this cold world and I honestly hope this quest will be a successful one.
