Now here’s a nice joint venture to forget about winter’s cold: Durand Jones & The Indications reimagined their 2019 release Cruising to the Parque with the help of the band Y La Bamba. Singer Luz Elena Mendoza’s crystal-clear voice adds a new twist to the groovy instrumentation. Carried by the steady beat and the hazy electric guitar melodies, their Spanish verses fit smoothly into the song. Cruising To the Parque as it was, is a beautiful sunny soul jam but in collaborating it grows to a more complex work of music. Y La Bamba and Durand Jones & The Indications are a dream team as they come and while we enjoy their music just like that as well, the remake of Cruisin to the Parque is the perfect song to ring in the sunny season.
