Music does not have an expiration date, the Berliner garage Duo Gurr prove once again and revive Brit-pop legacy with their cover of the classic Beetlebum. Released in 1997, the track cemented its status in the era and echoes to this day. Gurr who grew up with the music of bands like Blur, infuse the single with fresh punk energies and distorted guitar riffs. Especially, the screeching grungy vocals of the two singers give their rendition a special edge. Just before their extended tour across Europe, Beetlebum pushes the band’s aesthetic a little further by dwelling in nostalgia for the music of the 90s yet, adding the unique and punchy Gurr-touch to it.
