The Swedish trio Hey Elbow originally named themselves after an aerobics warm-up exercise, but their music has not much to do with the sport. Rather, the band finds their roots in Jazz. With a knack for improvisation and dark sonic landscapes Missit combines the musical elements Hey Elbow already worked with on their previous records. The weighty atmosphere of the multiple layers of percussion and the horns give the single a cinematic feel. Julia Ringdahl’s vocals echo over the gloomy brooding instrumentation like rays of sunlight finding their way into the darkness of the deep sea. Missit is an eccentric piece of music ambitiously combining many different elements to a unique single.
