Australian-born singer Jian Lew, aka Kyson, releases Slowdown, an intriguing mixture of electronic production elements and indie-folk progressions. Gently drifting by, the melody’s sweet synth-lines and the captivating vocals create a soundscape of their own. The artist’s love for production was sparked initially by a Bon Iver remix competition he won but it did not stop there. Using electronic elements with utter care for placement, he manages to keep it to a minimal yet, enhance the compositions to elaborate sounds that demand attention. Slowdown, the artist says, is a reminder to himself to just stop and take a breath every once in a while in the craziness that our lives are – something all of us could use.
