The German garage rock four-piece, Love Machine, critically examine toxic masculinity on the third single The Animal teasing the band’s forth record Düsseldorf-Tokyo. With noisy, distorted guitars and howl-like vocals, Animal is an explosive arrangement of instruments mirroring the aggression inherent to toxic masculine behavior. While it dissects a problematic societal structure, it does so with humor and self-critical irony. The video to the single showcases that as well, following the increasingly violent theatrical performance of two men fighting in a suburban garden. It’s a very Gamn setting, isn’t it? The Animal is noisy indie rock at its best. Düsseldorf-Toyko will be released later this month via Unique Records.
