Singer-songwriter Max Jury teams up with the wonderful Fenne Lily for an acoustic cover of PJ Harvey’s The Desperate Kingdom of Love. Drawing from the original, the two musicians add their own style to the single, Jury’s gentle acoustic guitar strums evoking instant wanderlust, and Fenne Lily’s breathy voice. Two creative forces come together to extend the basis laid by PJ Harvey. They add a touch of synth, a few extra layers, and multiple vocal tracks to the minimal original composition, yet the feeling of longing for something unattainable and distant is inherent to both of the versions. Max Jury will release a collection of songs called The Shade and The Grass later this year.
