Habitat is the third single the LA-based quartet Momma releases. It teases the grunge-pop band’s forthcoming LP Two Of Me, out in June, and makes up the five-minute heart piece of the record foreshadowing the dramatic turns we will get to experience. Inspired by the time the two band leaders Etta Friedmann and Allegra Weingarten took shrooms together and found themselves “being at peace with the environment and finding calm in an altered state”, it mirrors the unique experience in hazy grunge-tinged guitar riffs and floaty vocals. The slow-burning track comes to a crashing noisy-guitar end when the band lets loose. Especially these days, with everybody more or less confined to their homes – their habitats – the single takes on a new meaning of finding peace within.
